Not only did Tally receive positive reception for his story, The Silence of the Lambs won four additional Academy Awards and is the first and only horror film to win Best Picture. It was such a success, that Tally won multiple acclaimed awards including an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by author Ted Tally. The story crosses lines of morality and depicts a cannibal in ways someone would never expect, as the visual of a man eating another man’s face is not what one typically thinks about on a day-to-day basis. However, what’s more, the acting is some of the most believable portrayals of a psychopath's mind. Not only that, but the graphics are an exceptional display of what was intended.

Its scare factor doesn’t come from slashing murders or monsters around the corner, it comes from the heightened anticipation of what comes next. Released in 1991, The Silence of the Lambs is one of the most iconic horror films of our generation.
